The Art of Loving is the Act of Giving

From roses to avocados to ginger to...I won't even go there because today it is a different kind of love we are talking about. It is the pure, innocent, often unappreciated unconditional love called friendship. And we all need to be reminded of its existence once in a while, but how?

Well, if you are a lucky one like me :) :) :)

First of all, too much mezcal is always good. And yes, mezcal is an aphrodisiac. I have heard of people having orgasms in the middle of restaurants after those. I can't assure you it's true but that's what I have been told. Too much mezcal can also get you all the way to Miami, and for the Winter Music Conference too!!! A proven fact that is.

This post is dedicated to Don Travis; unconditional, abundant, american (love it or screw you), World Citizen. Let's spice up Mr. Worm shall we?

Marinita, you can watch :p .... love you both

Chocolate, Mezcal, Chile.....hotnesssss

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup cocoa powder
  • pinch of salt
  • 2 cups soy milk (you can use regular but dairy is no good for you people)
  • 4 cinnamon sticks
  • 1 whole dried chile ancho
  • 4 tbs brown raw sugar (or less)
  • 5 ounces mezcal
  • Chile powder, whole dried chile de arbol, and dark chocolate shavings for garnish

Preparation

  • In medium saucepan, stir cocoa with sugar and salt. Stir in milk, 2 cinnamon sticks, chile, sugar, and chocolate. Heat over medium heat until, stirring constantly, until chocolate is melted and mixture is hot. Gently whisk to completely homogenize mixture. Simmer over low heat, whisking occasionally, until fragrant, about 10 minutes. Carefully drain, smash the chile for a little bit and then discard.

  • Add cinnamon sticks.

  • Add mezcal and heat through.

  • Using a blender or a whisk, beat chocolate until foamy, then divide into four glasses. Garnish with chile powder, chocolate, and/or a cinnamon stick.

  • I mean look at those happy faces :)
