2010 - the Year of the Flavors and Aromas of Mezcal

1. TODAY, April 27, 8:00pm. Special Session in Red Fly. In the name of God, Durango.

Tasting: 3 Mezcales de Maguey Cenizo and a Sotol, all destilled in April 2010. One of the Mezcales has not more and not less than (72 grand degrees of goodness) and the other two have less than that but more than the modest 45°.

Cost: 150.00 pesitos. Includes 1 oz (28 ml) of each Mezcal and Sotol, and yummie appetizers from Red Fly. Orizaba 145 esq. Zacatecas, colonia Roma, México City.

2. Thursday, April 29, 7:00pm. Book presentation: "La impasibilidad cuestionada de Juárez" by Javier Guerrero edited by INAH.

Place: Casa México, Génova 70, Zona Rosa, México City. GRATIS!!!.

A word of advice from the host: ¡cabrones, no nada más chupen, también lean algo de historia!

3. Friday, April 30, 8:30pm. Another session in the restaurant San Miguelito.

Tasting: Mezcal de Puntas de Maguey San Martinero de La Compañía, Ejutla, Oaxaca; Mezcal de Maguey Espadilla de Xoyatla, Tepeojuma, Puebla; Mezcal de Maguey Cenizo de Nombre de Dios, Durango.

Cost: 290.00 pesitos. Includes 1 oz (28 ml) of each Mezcal and yummie appetizers from San Miguelito: a) puntas de filete en salsa de mezcal; b) lengua en salsa verde y c) queso Cotija legítimo.
